Eden Burning up the National Charts

On the ReverbNation Rock Rankings Eden Burning has been a steady favorite and they are advancing. On the strength of their single "Drowning" fans are flocking to their twitter page. The music video for "Nothings Good Enough" has over three million views. Not bad for a band that states " .... all I ever wanted to do was just create and send it out to the world and wether we get slammed on a song for sucking , or we get praise for a song for rockin , either way we are doing it." (founder Phil Salazar)
That attitude is enough reason to like these guys!

Born out of a love of the good old Mötley Crüe days of streetwise hard rock, Eden burning has gained praise from fans, radio stations, and record labels alike due to their infectious I don't give a damn sleazy rock and roll. Don't just take my work for it:

"Phil and team have done it again ! Brilliant lyrics , Brilliant sound , Just Brilliant.Cant wait to see what other awesome opportunities come knocking from this ! Erin Benke - Hitch Radio

"Texas sized sleaze n roll filled with a don't give a fuck attitude"

“The debut cd " BANGED UP N DIRTY" is 13 tracks raising the stakes. The offspring of LA Guns , Alice Cooper , and Kiss , the sound of electric guitars is pure sleaze rock n roll with top of the heap guitar licks and growling lyrics"

“EDEN BURNING is the perfect name for this band ! Their fiery style of hard rock burns fresh and bright...giving new salvation to true rockers lost in a world of shoe gazers, jam bands, and nuMetal folly.

These hard workin' rockers have opened for well known Hard Rock groups such as: Airbourne, Tesla, Dokken, Bret Michaels,The Bulletboys, Lita ford, Faster Pussycat, La Guns, Saxon, and Quiet Riot.

If you already are a fan of Eden Burning you will know that they really appreciate all their fans. Phil Salazar makes sure to answer tweets and keep fans up to date with Newsletters. So if you find yourself anywhere near San Antonio, Texas around the 25th of July go to Bonds 007 Rock Bar
Go, check em' out and afterward TWEET EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT HOW DAMN GOOD THEY WERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The All Father of Metal

On this Father's day I thought it fitting to write about Odin the All-Father of Viking mythology, and his influences on Heavy Metal.

Wotan, Woden, or Odin has had many names over the centuries. His old Norse name, Óðinn , means master of ecstasy, fury, and inspiration; what could be more Metal than that?
"He’s a relentless seeker after and giver of wisdom, but he has little regard for communal values such as justice, fairness, or respect for law and convention. He’s the divine patron of rulers, and also of outcasts. He’s a war-god, but also a poetry-god"

In Viking tales he is known as a great general and brutal warrior. Much like Heavy Metal bands such as MOTÖRHEADBathory and Manowar he reveled in the Chaos of war viewing it as not a tool to bring about change but rather a state of bliss. With the same disgust as the hoards of Metal fans despise the Metal posers, Odin preferred to ignore the everyday warrior or soldier and only bestow his praise and blessings on great heroes.

The All-Father's image and influence can be found not only in his spawn of Viking Metal but all throughout the many genres of heavy bands such as: the glam Metal band Odin; the Melodic Death Metal band Amon Amarth; and the heavy prog band Odin from the UK.

His viking influence can be felt in the birth of Heavy Metal as an art form. You can find it in the sonic assaults of Led Zepplin's Immigrant song, and Sweden's Metal Band, Heavy Load.

In his image Viking Metal was cast with all its pagan symbolism. The halls of Heavy Metal look not much different than those of Valhalla; filled with trophies of combat, and children of Odin. Even Odin's son Thor has been embraced by the studded arms of the headbangers, and given an honored place at the Metal table of triumph.

For these and many more reasons today, Father's Day, is an excellent day to give praise and reverence to Odin the All-father of Heavy Metal.

Growing From Kingston's Rock Roots

Greg Ball is no newcomer to the world of bands and bars. In fact he released his sophomore album, Mr. Rightplace (Ching Music/Fontana North/Universal Music Canada) last June. You could say his sound is quintessentially Canadian; that back yard bonfire storytelling rock that many of us Canadians grew up with; you know, the songs that tends to outlive that simplistic pop crap we are constantly barraged with on many radio stations. In fact he managed to turn the head of non other than The Tragically Hip's guitarist Paul Langlois.

Not only did he catch Paul's attention but Paul signed him to Ching Music in 2011 (Paul Langlois' own label.)

Last year Greg toured with Paul and Pete Murray across Canada for The Not Guilty Tour, which ended in Kingston's own Grand Theater last December. It was a great success and had all the fans who attended asking when they would take the old bus out again.

With the expert direction of one of Canada's rock stars, Greg Ball is climbing the precipice of a career that has the potential of seating him along side of the very mentor that is aiding him.

The Perfect Omniscient Prison

Alek Darson has gained a great deal of rave reviews due to his past ten years playing guitar. Everyone who has witnessed his unique sound and approach to shredding has mentioned how talented this young man is. He is catching the attention of musicians and music scholars alike: Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater and Professor Jon Finn at the world renown Berkeley College of Music in Boston have sung Alek Darson's praises.

As part of the progressive metal group Organized Chaos from Belgrade Serbia Alek has progressed from an axe slinger to producer and musical arrangement. Don't get me wrong he still swings some mean six stringed weapons that he calls his "Girls."
These girls are Wood Guerilla guitars, made in Belgrade Serbia.
With these babies he has produced some great prog tunes such as "Rind" which you can hear at his bandcamp site.

Organized Chaos

Fresh from studies at Berkley he has taken all of his experience and talent and focused them into a modern masterpiece of music he calls , his debut EP “Panopticon;" a six-track treat for all who are fond of prog rock/metal/fusion genre.

You can get the album from his website, alekdarson.com.
Also you can check him out on his YouTube Channel. Either way check him out and keep on Rocking out!

"This EP’s finds a musical expression for those emotions and is a voice to tell their story. I look at it as a Panopticon, a perfect omniscient prison where a single guard sees all. I had hoped to answer the biggest question of all: 'Am I the guard, or the prisoner?"

Finnish Guitar Virtuoso

If you are in the mood for some seriously talented guitar wailing or need an awesome session guitarist you can not go wrong with the Finnish virtuoso Elmo Karjalainen.

He is known as one of the best rock guitar players in Finland. Known for his work with the Finnish metal band Deathlike Silence achieving both positive reviews and ranking on the countries top 40.

In 2012 his solo CD, Unintelligent Designs, was released worldwide to much expectation. In a way it was one hell of a guitarist resume CD and a great exploration of differing styles. You can watch him shred through the title track of the album.

As you can see on his YouTube channel he is keeping very busy shredding as well as instructing others to develop their own chops. He has a blog dedicated to the art of the six string and is presently offering two free digital tracks if you subscribe to his newsletter.

All Elmo Karjalainen's guitar videos can be found here.

At present he is still playing for both Finnish  Deathlike Silence and Conquest.

The SkyBurnsRed

An alternative rock band with a violinist among their ranks creating sweeping, epic music combining thunderous riffs with elegant sweeping melodies and impassioned vocals.

"Machines" in May 2014 as our defining musical statement. Embodying our best work to date we are now on course to set the world to rights as we embark on playing up and down the country to win the hearts and minds of music lovers everywhere.

SkyBurnsRed believe that there is an unbridled honesty in four people playing real musical instruments together that is being seemingly lost among the overly-processed acts of today.

Our aim: to restore that balance. Join us in the revolution!"

Tools Of My Therapy

Tools Of My Therapy is an experimental Industrial metal group that explores much of the conflict that assaults one with a mental injury.

Shine is a visceral collaboration of  Despair and Angst that digs at the scabs of historical and personal wounds. From the initial track "The Great Dictator" which is voiced by Charlie Chaplin from The Great Dictator to the hauntingly recognizable chants of the final track "The Fall" it is a journey through a mind in conflict with the world around it.

Videos and Second album to come.

Yeneews Records is Online

Hello Everyone,

Yeneews Records is dedicated to bring you the best of the unsung Rock and Metal groups that populate our ever shrinking digital world. This blog is meant to advertise and promote not only Yeneews Records groups but also other bands of merit; especially those that live to make your world rock.

We believe, especially in this digital age that music should be free and openly accessible. Most of the money made by bands is from touring and concerts, good songs are the best advertisement and the more accessible they are the more fans they can entice to go to the shows.

Hopefully you will enjoy this blog and check out the groups we are bringing to your attention.

Sincerely Yours

Thrash Lives!

So, if you are a fan of the early Thrash movement when groups like ANTHRAX and MEGADETH were shocking the metal world and running roughshod across the globe, check out these boys from Venezuela.
